Not all furniture is born alike. But some pieces breed a life of their own, beyond the form and function they were created for. Adapting to the surrounding space, adjusting to the humans who took them home, to the new purposes imposed by them. Joana Vasconcelos always questioned the existence of certain furniture pieces, apparently useless, conceived to fill up empty spaces. She named them Stupid Furniture, decided to break their spell and saw textile art emanate from them, in all shapes and colours, surreal and vengeful. They now cast a light overall and create a dialogue with each other, imposing their powerful presence.
