Treats

Seductive like the strategies of conquest that govern contemporaneity, the artworks in the Treats series are presented as huge, colourful ice cream cones, slices of pie and cupcakes constructed through the accumulation and repetition of different alignments of plastic shapes - apples, pears, strawberries, blackberries, croissants and pretzels - used to play on the beach. The gigantism and color capture the public's attention immediately, while still leaving them guessing as to the emptiness of the volumes. The food, too, has not escaped the shameless seduction strategies of the past, which do no more than compensate for the absence of essence through the exuberance of appearance.
