This work is a true dialogue between two artistic worlds, creating an environment that is both organic and immersive, where tension and harmony coexist.
The base of the work, created by Arne Quinze, is made of aluminum and reflects an ongoing exploration of nature’s processes, its raw power, and its fragile sacred dimension, drawing inspiration from the concept of mono no aware – a Japanese aesthetic and spiritual sensibility to the transcence of things – and respects the autonomous rhythms of life.
Across this expansive structure, Joana Vasconcelos intervenes with colorful elements and “drops” covered in neon-coloured brushes, introducing a vibrant, almost pop dimension. By incorporating everyday objects associated with domestic labour, she brings movement, texture, and energy, and her additions evoke an unexpected blossoming, reinforcing the sculpture’s living, hybrid character.
